Bonobo DJ set/London

A little bunch of photos from a recent ish DJ set from the magnificent Bonobo a few weeks ago, only just got round to editing them*, I took many photos throughout the night and managed to escape the jam packed crowd and sneak around the back of the stage a little at one point  - admittedly these are perhaps not my best although, I prefer these closer/side photos to the 'front on' stage shots I took, represents the mood and intensity of Mr Green well. in my opinion.
the lighting was a bit dodgy apart from that it was a superb night full of life and spirit, very much looking forward to see him play London again in April...

Wednesday, 2 March 2011

the masterful and talented photographer Mel Bles has done it again and created an amazing piece of work! ,this time a video for Missoni S/S 2011 campaign. A follow on from her Dazed&Confused fashion video in 2010, full of familiar fashion faces and colourful patterns it's pretty darn cool.
-Mel tutored me/my year at university for a period of time and I have adored her photography since, I'm a big fan of all her work, particularly her photography produced on film which maintains a raw natural beauty that has always inspired me ! It's wonderful to see her producing something fresh and new...

what's next up up her silky sleeve?

*sneakypeek

-A few 'behind the scenes' pics from a photo shoot I did for Brownsfashion.com last week.
This time it was on location in a gorgeous and simply massive house in Knightsbridge, *a wow situation I found myself in, taking me outside the comfort of shooting in the studio. (which I quite liked)
It was actually a challenge to get my head around at first re; lighting and making sure 'it was right' although, with alot of creative chat and banter with the team everything seemed to flow as we made our way through each of the rooms deciding each shot...
It was a fantastic shoot and experience, really looking forward to seeing the final results on the New Browns website soon.

*thankyou Hugo for being a wonderful assistant, I owe you a pint.

Dinosaur Pile-Up

.
I had the pleasure of spending the evening with 'Dinosaur Pile-up', the lovely Leeds trio a few nights ago, I was fortunate to have a few moments (literally) with them before they went on stage for a quick portrait -must admit using flash isn't usually my bag although, I quite like this 'straight up' portrait of the band. simple.

I stuck around for their show and took few shots *bit out of practice on the live stuff but gave it ago nevertheless, the gig was fun, full of energy and good vibes...I heart the dinosaurs.

Here are a few 'behind the scenes' pics from a recent shoot I did for Brownsfashion.com

-It was my first ever Menswear shoot and also one of the leading feature shoots for the New Browns Website launching next month, so to be truly honest I was alittle nervous...
Although, the model (Leo) was super great and a pleasure to work with as were the rest of the team! I really enjoyed the experience and looking forward to seeing the full feature online next month on the Browns site.

Liron Kroll

Click here to see the latest production by Liron Kroll an awesome graphic designer, Photo illustrator and animator.

These images were originally taken by myself on a shoot I did last year for Designer Aimee Betts titled 'the adorned woman', Liron has since adapted my images and applied them to several completely new environments. I love the natural colour palette she has chosen, each image is individual yet it's clear they're part of a visual series and story. I'm a fan of the nocturnal beauty the images seem to hold - they've got my imagination running...

This exhibition currently at the HotShoe gallery, is an investigation into the fleeting moment; the profound way in which things appear and then quickly cease to be. Photography, both as an art form and a technological process, is tied to this concept in several unique and fundamental ways.

The exhibition seeks to investigate these ideas through a number of artist’s works, whilst also begging wider questions of contemporary culture with specific regard to technology, the immaterial, documentation, speed, inconsistency and the ‘throw-away’.

Here are a few images from one of the many 'Asos Marketplace' shoots I’ve been working on recently for Spring/Summer011. To introduce the project alittle bit, ASOS Marketplace is powered by a collective love of fashion. It's a destination for inspiration and discovery, fashion lovers sell directly to each other and individuals can recycle their wardrobes alongside specialist boutiques. Acting as the peoples runway and fashion community...
I'm enjoying the project so far and look forward to producing more images for it throughout this year.
-these are just a few of my recent fav's the colours remind me that summer i s coming and to get my stripes out ! yum

surprises

.
this is Emily Grundon.
My eyes used to follow this young photographer a couple of years ago, I recall her being quite an inspiration to me at the time, through the vines of social means...then.one day, I bizarrely forgot her name and couldn’t find her or any of her photographs again?,
today out of the blue a friend randomly emailed me her name and website for me to look at...
what a nice surprise. She’s back in my life, 2 years later with a new body of refreshing photographic work, her coherent and consistent layout in the ‘singles’ section and throughout her site is engaging. – also the use of lines and circles integrated in to her photographs offers an alternative for the viewer which is appealing.
For me, this is a reassuring yet experimental photographic style and website.

I.like.it.
plus she shoots film. cosy
