Cinemagraph portrait test
Still a few technical issues to sort out - here's a portrait test from an on going cinemagraph project shot in August this year. This was done using video on a Canon MII, natural daylight and a hairdryer for the hair movement. It involved masking over a 100 layers in photoshop to create the eye and hair movement fully.
More to come...

Mont Blanc for Mr Porter
Images from Mr Porter.com - Recently I was asked to photograph the new Mont Blanc 'writing instruments' known to you and I as pens for their website. I was given freedom to test and experiment with what type of lighting would work best for the product and what shots would work best for the website and customer...It was a fun project to work on albeit fiddly, a small test of patience at times! I'm pleased with the shots so it was worth it...

Tim Andrews - 'Daydream Believer.'
Above is my portrait of Tim Andrews and contribution to his fantastic project 'Over the hill' which is a photographic project involving a guy with Parkinson's Disease who has been photographed during the last six years by over 250 different photographers and I was delighted when Tim asked me to be apart of it.
This portrait entitled 'Daydream Believer' was taken at his home in Brighton this Summer. We didn't have a plan and idea in mind nor did we necessarily plan to shoot at his home although, when we arrived it felt comfortable sitting and chatting to Tim in his lounge and we soon started talking about his life, goings on and his proud record collection. We soon put on some tunes, I got my camera out and started to take a few frames of Tim listening (some times dancing) to the music. The above is a shot I took when Tim was slightly off guard and was taking a rest in his chair in front of his book and record collection... I really enjoyed spending time with this wonderful man, I look forward to more collaborations with him soon. Watch this space

Fred Sandback at the David Zwirner Gallery
I found myself at the private view of an exhibition of work by American artist Fred Sandback last night....
By stretching yarn horizontally, vertically, or diagonally at
different lengths, scales, and in varied configurations, Fred the artist has
developed a singular body of work over the span of his life time that elaborated on the
phenomenological experience of space and volume with unwavering
consistency and ingenuity.
My friends and I were immediately taken aback by the illusion the yarn caused us when entering the exhibition, the perfect square shaped yarn created a mirror effect. We had some fun with his illusions in the above photo....
