It's that time of the year again for the inspiring Design week in Clerkenwell and recently I took some photographs of designer Fay McCaul's latest pieces which will be involved in this years exhibition, here's a couple of photos from the day...This piece seen here is called the 'Vela Screen' , each knitted panel of the oak framed 4-panel room divider has over 1000 iridescent acrylic squares embedded into the cotton yarn. Acting like stained glass the acrylic squares shift colour from blues and mauves to silvers and golds depending on the light.
Fay McCaul is a london based designer who mixes modern materials - fibre optics and incandescent acrylic - with traditional knitting methods to create clever interior accessories, room dividers and installations.
See her full collection at the show from the 22-24th May.
