Amy's room.
A portrait of Dave. my housemate.
I took this photograph one morning when we collectively had to tidy and clean our house from top to bottom upon the arrival of many many people visiting our house that day to view a room we had up for rent at the time. Dave for some reason disappeared in to the garden for some time and started pulling out weeds amongst other things... Whilst I was buzzing around indoors I kept peering out the window observing what he was doing, I thought that was a peculiar thing to do and an interesting way to react to the situation.
I asked him to stop what he was doing for a minute and if I could take his picture. I think his expression sums how we all felt that day...

Susanna
Portrait of Susanna. my friend, who recently finished an internship at the luxury fashion boutique Browns,
She is amongst the 2.68 million currently unemployed in the UK and searching for a job.
This image was taken early one morning after a night out, she had lost her phone and wasn't feeling great...although, the sunlight was beautiful and not to be missed so I asked her if I could take her picture to capture her mood.
What I like most about this picture is the white bleached light coming in through the window spilling onto her blond hair and white t shirt.
When I was taking photos Susanna found this note folded up in her pocket, the note is a list of designer items she was responsible to gather the previous day for the Stylist. I took a picture of it to compliment the portrait.

Rob and Robin
the past few weeks I've been experimenting with daylight and different ways to work with it within portraiture, I've been exploring London with the aim of finding some subjects to shoot and generally just seeing what happens.
Here's a few images from a recent wonder. These were shot with my digital camera, I shot some frames on film too and will hopefully get them processed soon* It was fun meeting strangers and a challenge to deal with the unpredictable nature of some...Rob and Robin were sound, I saw them playing football on the fields and waited until they were finished to ask if I could take their picture, once i'd done a few kick-ups to show them I could play football they said yes. I just had my camera with me and nothing else only daylight as my light source, the sun was fading fast and so I asked them both separately to step into the sunlight, I really like the clear blue sky and the way the warm sharp light is hitting their faces. Looking forward to seeing what I find next...

Jane and MJ.
A few photographs from a surf trip to the coast of Devon. The top image is a portrait of my Best Friend, Jane with her dog MJ. I really like the way the dropping sunlight and reflection of the water has highlighted her figure on the beach which prompted me to ask if I could take her portrait.
MJ wasn't allowed to run on the beach, we had to conceal her under a jumper so the beach patrol couldn't see her!
I shot a few more rolls from this trip and from a more recent surf trip too so hopefully I get them developed over the next few weeks and I'll post some more when I have them.

Finland
A few photos from a recent runaway getaway to the gorgeous Finland... we were only there for a few days yet I couldn't help but get my camera out and shoot a few rolls through it. The landscape was surprisingly flat and slightly barren at times, although continuous lakes and technicolor forests surrounded us wherever we turned...The colours of the trees were absolutely beautiful and the sky was crystal clear. I wish I could get lost more often...
thanks guys for an awesome trip.

'Look of the Christmas week'
This week's 'Look of the week' image for Browns and as it's Christmas a few behind the scenes images from the shoot too...
This shoot was absolutely freezinggg probably the coldest of the whole year!, but as it was my suggestion that Hyde Park was going to be the location for the shoot, I had to stick to my guns, stay positive and get the shots we needed...thanks to Adam and Amy we got shot in no time!

The Lampshades
A few images from a recent promo shoot with 'The Lampshades' aka Lulu and the Lampshades.
The idea for the shoot originated from a photograph the band found entitled 'Psycho magnetic curves' , The image came from Colonel Dinshah P Ghadiali who in 1920 invented the Spectro-Chrome. The Spectro-Chrome was a simple aluminium colour projector, its creator claimed it had a miraculous power. It was believed that by focusing a specific colour on a particular part of the body at an exact time of day – which he catalogued in a series of regional astrological timetables - you could cure almost any malady...
The band liked the image and asked if we could do something based on it for the shoot... After a chat over a roast dinner it was decided we'd try and replicate the image through projection to create individual portraits and version of themselves. It was a fun and relaxed day shooting in the studio, experimenting with different ideas and lighting, this the result.
The Lampshades are currently recording some new material, looking forward to hearing the new sounds in the new year...

Daughter&Friends Christmas show
A few photos from the Daughter&Friends Christmas show lastnight in London.
The line-up was a feast with Jamie Lay, Lindsay West, Kyla La Grange and Bear's Den also playing...The venue was the cosy and atmospheric st Giles in the fields Church with Christmas trees and fairy lights surrounding the stage. We had the pleasure of watching them perform a bunch of old and new songs, Elena's mesmeric voice was backed up by an awesome production creating some incredibly epic sounds, at times you could have heard a pin drop, chillingly beautiful.
I got there just in time to catch Bear's Den and Daughter play, here's a few photos from the night.'Love' was probably my favourite from the evening!

ho ho ho!
'Designers makers' Christmas pop up shop looks good.
They're selling a big mixture of handcrafted products from UK designers, perfect festival gifts, including my brothers 'Christmas Tree Sledge' made from christmas trees found on the streets of London...
